I joined a great group from Central Christian recently as we canvassed the neighborhoods around our church campus distributing invitations to our community outreach event this Saturday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Jumpstart! Our goal is to hand out around 500 backpacks full of school supplies to our neighbors. And as I was doing so, I met an elderly couple who were so appreciative, supportive and excited to hear that our church was reaching out and impacting into our local community like this. They reiterated that to me numerous times. In fact, while my goal was to invite them – I left there inspired to keep on reaching out for the Lord with events such as this. And I heard that very same comment from a number of others who handed out invitations as well; positive comments from individuals about our reaching out into our community. GO GOD!
Friends, Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:18-20 to ‘GO into the world….” and that is exactly what we are doing; going into our world in Jesus’ name! In fact, it’s with events such as Jumpstart; our after school Good News club at Wyomina Park Elementary School; Love Ocala – where we clean up our neighorhood and so many other outreach events where we are impacting our local community in Jesus’ name! And can I say – THANK YOU my Central Christian family! You are the best! And guess what; I’m hearing numerous God-stories every week; God-stories from you my CCC family – where you are experiencing God’s movement and activity in our lives. And if you have a God-story; I want to hear about it and share it! Cause you never know how God is going to use us.
So, I invite you to join me in praying about and participating in our Jumpstart outreach event this Saturday, August 11. We are still needing school supplies and volunteers to help us out. So, if you can help in any way, even with a financial donation, please call Val Reed or Heather Wilson at 352-622-1119 this week. Pray for great weather and that God will be glorified as we reach out in His name. Thanks all! Love ya!
