God is more interested in our obedience than our excuses! In Exodus 3:4 God calls to Moses from within the bush, and he immediately responds, ‘Here I am!’ It’s not a question if God is speaking, but are we listening – are we willing? God then reveals His name, His power and His plan to deliver His people Israel from slavery! God tells Moses,“Go, I am sending you to bring my people out of Egypt!” Suddenly there’s a back and forth conversation as Moses continually offers excuses while God offerssolutions. Moses has questions, God has answers. Moses sees defeat, God sees success. Moses has problems, God has plans. Moses focuses on the impossible, God on thepossible! We’re no different. Are we? So, what excuses are we giving God today? Eventually, Moses claims that he’s slow of speech, and says something which ticks God off in Exodus 4:13 NIV, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.” Here’s what made God angry. Moses didn’t just say ‘I can’t’ – he really said, ‘I won’t’! He didn’t trust that God could do it! Do we? Anyone relate? It’s not can we but will we? Moses was right, entirely on his own he can’t, BUT God can! Hear that?

Here’s the deal, God equips those He calls! He never leaves us hanging! In Exodus 3:12 NIV God says, “I will be with you.” And in Exodus 4:12 NIV God adds, “I will help you speak…”. God wants Moses – why? Moses knows Egypt! He was raised in Pharaoh’s palace. Not only that, but He’s even spent the last 40 years leading sheeparound the very place he will eventually lead God’s sheep through. That’s why! God had been preparing Moses 80 years for this task! God’s more interested in our obedience than our excuses! So, what will our answer be the next time God asks us to do something for Him?! I can or I won’t? I can’t but God – You can! I believe!
