Ed was born in Brooklyn, New York. He met his wife Barbara when he was in the 9th grade. Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1959-1963. During his enlistment he and Barbara married. Once discharged, they returned to New York City where he then entered the NYPD and served in numerous assignments until 1985. While serving the NYPD he attended college and graduated from the New York Institute of Technology with a BS in Behavioral Science with a minor in Criminal Justice.
He and Barbara moved to Florida in 1986 and he was baptized into Christ in 1991 at Maricamp Road Church of Christ. He began to serve as the Deacon of Outreach, local Benevolence and Institutional Benevolence. He came to serve at Central as the Senior’s Minister in 2001.
