Presidential Service Awards
President Bush established a program that allows children (under 14) and youth to receive credit for 50 volunteer hours per year. This is terrific information to have for future college and scholarship opportunities. Preparing centerpieces for the church's Thanksgiving dinner counts, rehearsals and presentation of our children's musical count as well as caroling and work projects like we've don at Center of Hope. Parents can go online and record the hours on line and keep a permanent record. At Central's promotion in the spring, we will have certificates signed by President Bush for those children who have completed 50 hours or more!
